Are you having a rough day in VALORANT and want to uninstall the game? Been there done that, so why not take you through the process?
At a glance, VALORANT is a great game; it is one of the best competitive games out there. But like most of the best things, it also has some ups and downs. I’ve been playing the game for a very long time. I love VALORANT, but the low Elo grind is unreal. The constant smurf and teammates throwing server issues had me in a rage, so I quit the game several times.
Although not everyone can relate to me, most of the player base feels the same. Anyway, maybe you don’t feel the same and want to uninstall VALORANT for some other reason. So, let’s take you through the process of how to unistall VALORANT.
How to Uninstall VALORANT
Before going through the full process of how to uninstall VALORANT, my recommendation would be to backup all your settings or maybe take some screenshots of your sensitivity settings, crosshair settings, etc. Oh, and one more thing: if you have enough space on your drive, you can also take a backup of the game, so if you ever decide to re-install the game, you don’t have to download the full game.
Now that all out of the way, let’s see how to uninstall VALORANT:
First of all, close the game and riot Vanguard from the background; you can do that from the task manager. Simply right-click your taskbar and go to Task Manager, or you can press Ctrl+Shit+Esc to open it. If you see the VALORANT or riot Vanguard in your task manager, then right-click it and press end task (it will be on the top) to close the process.
After closing everything (related to VALORANT) from the task manager, you can uninstall VALORANT from the control panel. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open the Control Panel by searching for it in the Start menu.
- Navigate to “Programs” and then “Programs and Features.”
- Find VALORANT in the list of installed programs.
- Right-click on VALORANT and select “Uninstall.”
- Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation process.
Do the same thing with Riot Vanguard if you only play VALORANT, but if you also play League of Legends or any other Riot games, leave it as is.
After uninstalling VALORANT from the control panel, you need to delete the leftover files from the directory. You can do that by following these steps:
- Navigate to the installation directory of VALORANT. This is typically located in the “C:\Riot Games” folder.
- Delete the VALORANT folder and any remaining files or folders related to the game.
You are done for the most part, but if you want to take it a bit further and remove the trace of VALORANT from your Computer, then you can also Clear VALORANT Registry Entries. If you wish to do so, you can follow these steps, but be cautious; this is some high-tech stuff, and if anything goes wrong, you might need to reset windows. Do you still want to go through the process? Well then, follow me:
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialogue box.
- Type “regedit” and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software” and “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software.”
- Look for any entries related to VALORANT or Riot Games.
- Right-click on the entries and select “Delete” to remove them from the registry.
These were some hefty tasks; well, now that you have completely obliterated VALORANT, uhm, I mean Uninstalled VALORANT. Now you can start your new journey, and I hope I can be a part of that journey, welp I will be here gathering dust. If you need any help in your journey you can check out our other guides as well.
